City Girls

City Girls were found and developed as a marketing project for a fragrance company in the summer of 2007. After the fragrance project came to a conclusion City Girls were sighted and began the process of recording. Some great writers and producers were brought on board and the City Girls sound was crafted.

The band of 3 girls have fabulously addictive belting vocals courtesy of lead singer Sheena Rowe (whose background includes session and backing singing in her native Birmingham area) and lifestyle lyrics that have an infectious, catchy new take on mainstream dance music.

Sophie Leniston is the Irish baby of the band. From kids TV in Korea to Cats in New Zealand, musical theatre in Canterbury, Kent and dance troupe in Dublin performing has been her life.

Claudia Evans hails from South East London and as well as having sung backing vocals for Javine and Jamelia, has also danced with Kylie Minogue, George Michael, Ashanti and alongside Deanne Berry (GMTV's new face of fitness) in the popular Eric Prydz ‘Call on Me' video.

City Girls also have Deanne to thank for the choreography of their dance routines, meaning that it is not only their music that has wow factor but their dance moves too.

Make Up Your Mind is the City Girls second single release.
Their debut single, OMG was released in August 2008 and reached number 3 in the Music Week Pop Club Charts. OMG (written by Darren Monson, Jay Raser and band member Sheena Rowe) was produced by Pete Hammond and Jay Raser.
Make Up Your Mind is written and produced by the same team and the track has been remixed by Pete Hammond and is currently being well received by club DJ's across the UK. Future Freakz have also done a remix in their own inimitable style.

Pete Hammond dubbed ‘mix master' Hammond is from a mainstream/pop background and has been credited on over 140 UK hits with artists such as Kylie, Debbie Harry, Take That, New Kids on the Block and most of the 80's hit factory of Stock, Aiken and Waterman whilst recent collaborations include Alphabeat and Positiva. His remix of Make Up Your Mind has that definite 80's homage.

City Girls were used by leading games company Ubisoft for their advertising campaign for Imagine Girl Band played on Nintendo DS. The adverts were launched in August 2008 and featured City Girls together with Radio One DJ Fearne Cotton and Holly Willoughby. OMG is also being used as the backing music for series of the ongoing TV adverts.

This year leading footwear brand Hush Puppies have signed the band up to be ambassadors of their nationwide competition to find a shoe designer. The band appeared in their advertising campaign in leading magazine LOOK, as well as forming a crucial part of the PR campaign for the brand. They will be appearing at Schuh stores around the UK doing live PA's and will be part of the national radio campaign on Heart and Galaxy radio. The band have also supported the Pussycat Dolls and Beverley Knight at gigs in July.
